About Our Club

Cavendish gun club was founded in Derbyshire in1919, and moved to it's present location in 1933. Claimed in an article in Sporting Gun, dated January 1990, celebrating its 70th anniversary, to be the second oldest gun club in the country. Do you know different?

The high towers we use were originally Royal Air Force spotting towers, which are excellent for the purpose we use them for, and make our shooting ground truly unique in the clay pigeon shooting world .

The present owner Steve has been associated with the club, and participated in the sport since he first became a member in 1977. In 2003 Steve acquired ownership from Peter Langrick, who had been running the club with his family since the 1940s. Steve is working hard to restore the club to its former glory.
